May's Photography Competition Winner
May’s ‘Street Photography’ competition saw a large amount of creative and interesting entries with a range of different takes on the theme. We had emotional captures of faces passing by, bustling city and market streets, graffitied city walls and many more.
Due to the varying nature of this month’s competition theme entries as with many forms of photography there was clearly no ‘right’ form of entry and composition however a common theme in many entries was the use of black and white.
You can see all of the entries into May’s competition by visiting our album on Facebook.
Winner
This month’s photography competition winner is George Johnson with his entry ‘On to St Pauls’, our judges loved the use of black and white to depict St Paul’s peeking over the city streets and the walker with the umbrella striding up the street.
Runner-up
May’s photography competition runner-up is Alex Turton with his entry ‘My Shadow’s the only one that walks beside me’. Our judges really liked the way you pulled the focus to your subject of the lone man walking along the surrounding busy street with the sun drawing out his shadow.
If you’d like to enter into our monthly photography competition keep an eye out on our Facebook and Twitter for the coming month’s theme- it promises to be a good one!
