Summer Lovin' Coloured Picture Frames
The sunshine is here which means we can pull out the bright and bold colours for summer. Here at Frames Express we’re not just about neutrals and traditional frame colours; we’ve picked out some of our favourite coloured frames, perfect for bringing the summer feeling into your home all year round!
There are so many hues of red out there from bright daring reds to the more subtle with brown undertones. Reds are great for adding a bit of personality to your room, creating striking feature pieces and make excellent accent walls. Team up a red picture frame with a neutral wall to pull it all together and create an energetic feel.
Reds work great with: neutral colours such as black and white.
Yellow is a great colour for invoking positivity, creativity and a feel-good atmosphere; softer yellows are also ideal for a more calming neutral.
As a colour for interior design yellows work well to bring warmth and brightness into darker rooms and are perfect for offices (stimulates memory) and hallways which tend to have less light than other areas of the home. Use a bright yellow frame in a room to create an uplifting focal point.
From vivid tones to soft baby pinks, there are a range of different feelings that the colour pink can bring to a room. Much like reds brighter tones can reflect energy and glamour, whereas paler shades give off calming tones.
With pinks especially, a lot can be overwhelming in particular the more intense hues. If you’re unsure how to balance pinks in your home a great idea is to add dashes of the colour within furniture, bringing a fresh feel. Team up pale pinks with neutral/grey tones and light blue hues for the perfect pastel finish.
Nothing says summer like blue oceans and blue skies. Embrace this in your home with blues with a hint of green for a fresh and regenerative feel, think aquamarine. If your looking to embody vacation mode in your home use a few pieces in your warm blues side by side with crisp whites as well as beiges and browns to bring about the holiday feel.
If you can, try not to use too many different shades of blue in one room as they try to compete.
Beige is a great colour, perfect for decorating a room in a natural and warm way. Rather than painting whole rooms in grey it’s always a good idea to play it with other colours such as soft browns blues and purples. Beige is a very welcoming colour automatically giving us the feeling of safety and calmness.
If you have a bright exotic wall and you aren’t sure how to decorate it, creams are an ideal neutral choice to whites. Or for a more relaxing and light airy feel to your room beige frames also look great on light grey backdrops.
