Lin Osborn Art
Here at Picture Frames Express we love to learn more about the stories and life behind artists and photographers alike.
Do you remember the winner of our September photography competition, Lin Osborn? Lin entered a striking image of a frog into our Nature competition and was the lucky winner of a £200 framing voucher.
Lin is not only a talented photographer but also a successful artist. Over the years Lin has developed her own style of artwork using a tile composition effect and we were very interested to know more about her and her work.
From a young age Lin Osborn showed talent in drawing and at the age of 13 was awarded a scholarship to Harrow Art School (now the University of Westminster). In 2001 Lin graduated with a Fine Art Honours Degree from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design. She continued her studies at the Winchester School of Art, where she became interested in photography and was awarded an Associateship by the Royal Photographic Society.
Lin Osborn has exhibited her work all over the world, including New York, Milan, Singapore and Hong Kong, as well as having her own private exhibition in London. She uses a series of small detailed photographs to create her original artwork. Osborn tends to use objects taken from everyday life or the natural world and by repeating a series of images she is able to change the original context.
The artwork below, ‘Doors’ has a historical and architectural interest.
As an artist Lin enjoys doing what she does from capturing her images to seeing a customer delighted with their commissioned or purchased work. Osborn has inspired lots of people over the years and has found other artists basing their work on the “style of Lin Osborn”.
In the future Lin plans to continue with her art and is currently doing a lot of work with light blocks. These are proving to be successful in the UK and have previously been exhibited in New York.
